Washington Shores Church of Christ has established a scholarship program for Graduating High School Students who are enrolled in accredited colleges, universities or trade schools. A Scholarship of $1000.00 each year is available to high school seniors who are pursuing undergraduate studies. Eligibility for scholarship grants is based upon criteria of academic achievement, and participation in the community or school activities.
This program provides scholarship grants of a significant and meaningful amount and provides a commitment to the student of continuing support for his or her academic career provided the criteria for the scholarship is maintained.
This program is initially funded through the members of Washington Shores Church of Christ.
The goal of this program is to ensure men and women of all nationalities, creeds, and colors to have the opportunity to advance morally, socially, and financially, in a society we all have to face on a day-to-day basis. In funding the future, being young men and women hopefully will draw out their attributes that awaits us.
The Washington Shores Church of Christ Scholarship Foundations Fund is a program that aids and assists in a great cause, EDUCATION. This funding of young men and women who want to further their education by going to college signifies that communities will be filled with professionalism that will overflow in making America a stronger and better place to be. This scholarship will place young men and women in accredited colleges and universities. Our Scholarship and Financial Aid Committees of Washington Shores Church of Christ under the following guidelines will administer the scholarships.

Qualification Form
(To qualify for this scholarship, you must produce all items below)

Complete in its entirety the scholarship application and questions

Provide proof of a 3.0 (or better) GPA and maintain that average before receiving this fund. Weighted GPA is acceptable

On a separate sheet of paper, provide a 100-500-word essay as to why you need/deserve this funding
-
Proof of 75 hours of community service.

Name(s) and number of site(s) you volunteered

Name and contact number of community service supervisor

Must have attended and graduated from a high school in Orange, Osceola, or Seminole county, Florida.

Must be a current high school graduate in the same year the scholarship funding is released
-
Provide a copy of your official high school transcript.

Provide two letters of recommendation
Scholarship Applicant Instructions
All scholarship applications and attachments must be received by April 15, 2020.
If application is completed online, all other items must be either mailed or received by 5:00 to:

*This scholarship is a one-year (two semesters) award, payable in $500.00 increments each
semester, contingent upon your verification as a full-time student.
